The Secret Affair

I've never been to The Secret Affair event before and I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING! Clearly, I wasn't. There's so many creative and well-made items up for sale -  I just kept saying bye-bye to my Lindens and hello to pretties!

I was feeling so inspired I just had to take a quick shot of some of the goodies i got:

HAIR FAIR *SNEAK PEEK*

This year marks the 9th year residents of Second Life have gone mad over virtual hair but with good reason! Hair Fair 2014 boasts exclusive styles in which part of the proceeds benefit children who participate in Wigs for Kids, a program that provides wigs for children who suffer hair loss due to medical reasons, including chemotherapy and severe burns.

"Over 2 million children are affected by hair loss," according to the program. This bridging of SL and RL is one way the virtual community is helping make a positive change in the real world. And it's the smallest smiles who benefit.

 

It all starts this Saturday, July 12 - Sunday, July 27, spanning over 4 sims! There's 'wigs' for men and women so expect some lag. To help with it, be sure to dress down to simple clothing layers and leave the scripts behind.

Enchantment Preview: Red's Revenge

Welcome back everyone, if you didn't see my previous post be sure to check it out. The second installment of Enchantment is only a few days away, and, if you've never been - just know it's quite the experience! With each event comes an immersive sim centered around a fairy tale, and this time it's Little Red Riding Hood.

How you experience this fairy tale is completely up to you. Myself, I went with a more mature Red, seeking revenge on the Big Bad Wolf for what he's done to her beloved Grandmother and for the attacks he's made on her, too. Oh no, MY Red is no sweet helpless innocent girl - no way. She is strong, she is confident and she is every bit game of battling it out as much as he is. Without further ado, here is my final preview in story:

What happened to her should never happen to anyone... I can no longer stay inside and be filled with anxiety knowing he's out there... I have to start somewhere. So, to the woods I go...

much later that night...

the fight is over, revenge - mine. His head I'll mount in celebration of better times.

Alas, I'm here. The fear now gone. I'll stay in Grandma's house where I'll be safe & warm.

Enchantment, A Preview

Behind the trees, bushes and shrubs preys the Big Bad Wolf, his story most notably heard around the world for centuries in the beloved tale, Little Red Riding Hood... Enchantment, round two, takes you on a journey of that fateful path and invites everyone to immerse themselves in the story. Several designers are offering items based on this one-of-a-kind experience.

Must-Haves @ Collabor88!

One can never be TOO big on Second Life - that's one reason I love this game. No matter if you're a seasoned player/designer or not, there is always room to grow and to find out who has the hottest items on the grid! As many of you know, players in SL are always creating, and the monthly event, Collabor88 gives an outlet to not only seasoned designers, but to maybe not as well known designers, too! Why 88? Good question! Each event starts the 8th of each month and each item for sale must end with 88.

It's pretty packed this round , even being 4 1/2 days in, AND I'm convinced it's all because the items this month are on another level. That said, here are my top picks in no particular order:

Kawaii Goodies!!

Hey everyone!! Hope you are doing fantastic. There's lots going on around the grid -but when isn't there, right?! This year's Kawaii Fair is nearing an end as the month of April finishes up. So if you haven't been, then I definitely encourage you to because there's so many great designers, known and unknown. MESH BOOTY!

Now I am loving mesh, but it is hard to find jeans... at least jeans that keep it round in the rear (know what I mean?!) See...I don't mind having a flat butt in sl but when I can get a nice round butt I go for it! And that's why I'm so glad to tell you that Butterfly Effectz just released their Booty Pop mesh jeans!
